From: aRKay on 29 Jan 2010 17:15 I have Samsung ML-2244 Laser Printer that works great with this iMac running 10.6.2. The problem is with the lame (very lame) Samsung Smart Panel. The Samsung Smart Panel installer does its thing and installs an icon on the menu bar. The SP icon does NOTHING and there is no pull down. I contacted Samsung and they referred me to Microsoft as it may be their problem??? Anyone been able to get a Samsung Smart Panel to run under Mac OS X 10.6?

I never said there was a problem with the printer. The Samsung ML-2240 works great. The problem is with the Samsung Smart Panel software they provide to go with the ML-2240. The Smart Panel installs but does not seem to run under OS X 10.6 and the support people at Samsung keep referring me to Microsoft. I guess I don't need the Samsung Smart Panel as the ML-2240 laser printer seems to work fine. I think the SP is a utility that shows items in the print queue and lets you know what's going on?

Yes, MacOS X 10.6 with Smartpanel 2.2.2, which I got with my new Samsung ML-1640. You are not missing anything important, the SmartPanel shows exactly the same print dialog that you see while printing. -- Hans Rijnbout Utrecht, Netherlands

I just tired the Samsung disc that came with my ML-2240 and it installed an older version of the Smart Panel that does nothing just like the new version on the Samsung web page. Yours seems to work with your ML-1640 driver. Have you tried the new version the Samsung web page? Mind does nothing. It would be nice to know what's in the print queue. Samsung tech support is pitiful for Macintosh help
