Interesting (or not) - as far as I can see, the entire sprouts thread
has been written by males. Is there a gender divide on the subject? Or
just the usual skew of posters?

My wife can't stand them since she burnt some whilst expecting and
cooking the Christmas lunch.

I think if you are doing the cooking yourself it is normal to expect
christmas lunch.

Good point. Unless it includes sprouts, perhaps? But in this case
expecting == pregnant. It does funny things to the senses, I'm told.

I'm not a male. I adore sprouts, they're one of my very favourite veg.
