I'm quite glad that I live in a society that values children in this way, and recognises their importance by helping people to have them. I am also glad that our national health service recognises that children are part of individual and social well-being, and that alongside its mission to improve health by tackling illness and its causes, it also works to promote well-being by recognising the significance of wider human needs. Yes; and when you see couples who desperately need to have children but can't have them you realise that this isn't a vanity wish, it's destructive and it ruins their lives. It's *not* less serious than breaking an arm or having arthritis. I've seen it quite close to. And I'm glad that the NHS will help such people. -- Peter
