How is it that you have > installed a single DIMM? Mine didn't say that. However, perhaps one might need 4gig in slot 1, leave slot 2 empty, and then put 1gig in slots 3 and 4. Putting 1gig in slot 2 would have unequal memory in slots 1 and 2.
