From: Cliff Galiher - MVP on 17 Jun 2010 23:32 To end users, you will remain mostly anonymous. Of course it requires a Live ID and since the servers are centrally controlled by MS, it isn't anonymous to them, unlike true NNTP servers. But, with that said, remember that the MS forums are web based and do not support NNTP at all. Hence the name "nntp bridge" ...as it bridges from your nntp reader of choice to the web APIs that MS has exposed. Most of the headers you see on a post are added by the bridge to make your NNTP reader not completely choke, but most of that stuff is generated by the bridge when sent to you reader, and most of the stuff your reader generates when posting gets stripped. by an large, if you don't see a piece of information on the web interface, it isn't being stored by MS and thus is not visible to a news reader. -- Cliff Galiher Microsoft has opened the Small Business Server forum on Technet!
