Thanks Craig. I looked at your link, Chromium OS design Documents.Sure
seems that you need Google in the equation, because the COS (Chrom Op
Sys) calls home and stores stuff at Google servers in their
warehouses.
Does anyone think there is a good way to make an "Iron OS"
without Google storage? Like you say, a non-Google
OS based on Chromium OS but without calling home to Google? Any
ideas? Thanks!

Haven't heard anything. But, if enough of the OS stack is open-sauced,
it's just a matter of time until someone(s) try.
