Very near columbus (one end of the road), actually on taylor street (1640).
Sab is much more an LA kinda girl, but more than that the major problem is
that she was illegal.

And apparently its no fun being an illegal alien.

Huh. We were there at the same time. I worked at 4th and Townsend, and
took CalTrain in every day.

I think our rent was $900 a month, for a 2 bedroom apt in Mountain View.
But part of that was that hubs had lived there already for 4 years.

We drove in or took the bart as I worked in San Leandro. A bit of a pain
as the bart didn't go down that far so there were busses involved.
Mind you, at least busses actually worked on a sensible system when I
was there, rather than how they worked (or didn't) when I got back to
the UK.
Also a bit of a pain as this was 96 so the i880 was not functional as it
hadn't yet been rebuilt after the earthquake for the first 9 months of
being there, and we had to go around the 990. Nice when they opened it.

This was a one bed.
We moved after a while to stockton and bay for a 1 bed for $1200. Much
cheaper in every way.

Which was a bit of a problem as for some reason, the sf taxi drivers had
a problem with the way I said 'bay', and many times after saying
'stockton and bay' they started heading south and when queried they were
heading to Pine. I never got that, but the mac speech to text system
made the same mistake, so I guess it was my lack of accent that confused
it!
