Amarok 2 will play CDs, only the option is hidden under "local media" or such. Afaics it will only be available when a disc is present. Xine will also play CDs. Both Amarok and Xine will play via PCM (ie. software based). If you have the cable installed you can stream audio in hardware using the command line utility cdda-player. It shouldn't be too difficult to create menu items in the Kickoff launcher. So the whining about KDE 4 can stop now. ;-) Martin

There was an mp3 file at the top of it that would always play before the CD tracks.
