Maybe you should tell us which mouse you're using. It's not a problem
for others using the trackpad.

Probably because you are accidenatlly putting other fingers on the track
pad, or hovering them too closely to the track pad surface.

Try installing smcFanControl and watch your temperature for a while. If
the computer is getting hot enough, it could be choking the CPU and the
scrolling would get rough.
