The "latest" update to _anything_ is, by definition, already out.
Something that's not yet released can't be called "the latest", at least
not by anyone who understands English.

I imagine you're referring to the _next_, as yet unreleased, update,
though. Only people working for Apple would know that, and they're
presumably under non-disclosure agreements that prevent them from
stating anything in public.

Is there any actual point to your question? What problems are you having
that you hope an update will address?

Thursday, probably between 3:30 and 4:00.

Only Apple knows when that will happen (and even they might not know
yet).

There have been rumoured leaks via sites like AppleInsider and MacRumors
which (assuming they are accurate) imply that the 10.6.3 update is
imminent, given the pattern of recent releases.

For several weeks, Apple has allegedly been releasing a new developer
seed roughly once per week, and for the last couple of weeks its
software build number has been incrementing by 1 each time, which means
that Apple has not been doing additional internal software builds.

It appears that they are trying to fix one final known problem before
releasing 10.6.3, and are very keen to get this release out as a
"stable" one. Once Apple is satisified that they have a final 10.6.3, it
will be released via Software Update and their web site as normal.

I can think of several possible reasons for the delay in releasing
10.6.3.

- The outstanding issue(s) could be serious bugs.

- They are due to replace the DVDs in the retail supply chain with
updated ones (typically done every three minor updates, if not sooner),
and want a very stable release for the DVDs.

- There could be some secret new feature which even the rumour sites
don't know about, and it isn't quite working yet.

- There are likely to be pending new Mac models due for release (at
least MacBook Pro and Mac Pro), and they might require 10.6.3.

If it takes much longer to release 10.6.3, Apple might need to release
another security update for 10.6.2, as it has been more than two months
since the last one, and the gap between security updates (including
those in OS minor version updates) is rarely more than two months.

You can't expect Apple to fix problems with Microsoft apps, and you
haven't actually reported these problems to either company, have you?
They're certainly not going to fix problems they haven't heard about.
