Any thoughts on the anti-glare option on the new 15" MBPs? I'm thinking
of getting the i7 but haven't seen a new Pro with the matte option. I'm
not dead against the glossy screens but find them a pain sometimes.

The nearest Apple Store to me is Exeter - anyone know if they have one
on display?

I'm the same as you. It drives me mental sometimes.

Conor I'm not prejudiced. I hate everyone equally.

Glossy screen is great in a dark room. Damn near useless in a room with
strong lighting, sun coming in, or light coloured background, especially
while working with darkish imagery.

But have you seen the new anti-glare? I'd take a new glossy over the old
silver keyed MBP matte and I don't mind this kinda-shiny MacBook at all.

The anti-glares seem to have a coating similar to that of photographic
lenses to tone down reflections.

However if you do any kind of serious image editing, they're still
unacceptable:
