Given that there's only one physical button, I think if you want an
"ordinary" right-click you're going to have to start by busting out the
dremel.

FWIW, if you think of it as "secondary click" (which is, by the way,
what Microsoft calls it) and dispose of the idea that you need two
buttons arranged physically to the left and right of each other, the
concept makes more sense. "If I want to click, I click with my thumb; if
I want to do a special (secondary) click, I click with my thumb while I
rest my fingers on the trackpad".

Doing it is more natural than writing (or reading) it. I reckon I spend
fewer calories doing a secondary-click on an Apple trackpad than I do on
PC trackpads or mice. My fingers are already right there, I hardly move
at all, whereas I move more with a mouse. This is probably a quirk of
how I use mice and trackpads though, so ymmv.

I have always preferred trackpads to mice, except on those rare times I
play Portal or other similar games.
