I have to assume I'm misreading you here, could you explain? The magic mouse double clicks just fine for me and I haven't installed any third-party software to enable this. -- Tom "Tom" Harrington Independent Mac OS X developer since 2002 http://www.atomicbird.com/

Magic mouse is a pure joy in comparison to Mighty mouse. Sleek, elegant. I love the scrolling. Only complaints I have are the following. 1. *sometimes* the mouse mis-interprets right mouse clicks as left if I have too much skin touching the left side of the surface (probably my fault). 2. *sometimes* left clicks proceed to scroll after the click. Probably my fault as well from years of sloppy mechanical clicking. I find the mouse accurate enough for say Photoshop. Battery life I have no idea as the mouse is relatively new. I've had it for about a month now and 77% battery remains. I use the computer every day 4-5 hours for work. > > What type of batteries does it use ? AA > > Anyone with a Macpro using this mouse ? JF- I have had problems with optical mice, including the Mighty Mouse. With some slight disturbance, the arrow goes racing across the screen for no apparent reason, hiding itself in some distant corner. I now have two Magic Mice, one for the Mac Pro and one for the MacBook Pro. Neither has ever exhibited the racing-arrow problem. They are the best mice I've ever had. Yes, the batteries run down. A warning message comes up when capacity gets down to 10 percent. It seems to happen about once a month on the one I use most often. Maybe a wired version would eliminate that, but then the wire would be the annoyance! Did you ever have your Mighty Mouse cord get trapped under the edge of the mouse, preventing you from clicking? When I use 2500 mAH NiMH batteries, I find Mac OS X does not accurately report how much charge is in them. -- Send responses to the relevant news group rather than email to me.
