I've found if I insert them into my Magic Mouse after a fresh charge,
Mac OS X reports the mouse somewhere between 50-60% charge. It also
seemed like the OS reported it empty faster than with normal batteries.
I haven't used them enough to know much more than that yet.

I guess that is because NiMH cells have a lower nominal voltage than
alkalines. If the mouse only measures the voltage then the system could
well think that a fully charged NiMH is actually a partially discharged
alkaline.

I just got one a few weeks ago. I generally like it, but I have the
opposite problem to yours. Frequently when I just intend to move the
mouse it also detects a swipe on the surface, so whatever window I'm
moving over scrolls unexpectedly. My guess is that my palm is resting
on the surface and shifting as I move.

It would be nice if it automatically disabled swipe recognition while
the mouse is moving.
