I've used stunnel under linux for a while. I didn't realize
that there was a windows port. ZaCat pointed it out, I thanked him.
All my posts from aioe are by stunnel :)

I just put the forte agent bit in to annoy the linux purists,

Thanks for the offer.

<http://xnews.remarqs.net/ssl.htm> gives (what I hope are) fairly
simple instructions for setting it up for nntp. Stunnel setup should
be the same, but obviously you'll be pointing Gravity at it instead of
Xnews.

If you try those instructions and find anything wrong with them, please
let me know -- it's been a long time (and several minor stunnel
updates) since I verified them.

It's got quite a bad bug.

The splash screen stays behind!

It goes away only when you "do something" - like compose a reply etc.

Bit anoying, as, I like to often initially run it by:
*starting it
* shift V - VCR mode, ensure all servers are checked, click OK, and then
minimise it.

And when I minimise it, there's the splash screen, no way of closing it.

I didn't know anyone still used VCR mode. Cool. I thought it was
getting obsolete.

What Operating System are you using? We didn't see that in XP Pro
and Win 7.

You could try starting it with /NOLOGO in the shortcut, i.e.

"C:\Program Files\Microplanet\Gravity 2.9\gravity.exe" /NOLOGO

I'm curious how that works for you, we had a few tweaks with the
splash screen.
