From: loc on 30 Dec 2009 09:33 Does anyone have a modem dial-in connection working in Slackware 12 or 13 using agetty? I've only been able to login once usually it just connects and doesn't do anything. I have the modem set to auto answer ATS0=1 and I'm using this line in /etc/inittab d1:12345:respawn:/sbin/agetty -mt60 38400,19200,9600,2400,1200 ttyS0 vt100 Re-read inittab with: # init q The modem is a Multi Tech MT5600ZDZ 56K and I can connect and login to my SCO Unix box using this same modem and phone line so I know those are both ok. I'm just wondering if anyone actually has this working on a recent version of Slackware. I've also tried uugetty without success, I haven't tried mgetty yet, but it seems like I should be able to do this with agetty. I did notice that the agetty process doesn't always show up with ps - ef, but only seems to come up after the phone rings.
