Videos skip in Windows movie maker

Cannot open previously saved project
I cannot open a recently saved project. The program freezes after the progress bar reaches the end in the Checking Project Files box. I'm running wmm v. 2.1.4026.0 on Windows XP. Any ideas? ... 8 Mar 2010 23:09

"deleting" songs, pictures after movie is finished
I have completed my movie and burned the disk. Now, what do I do with the songs and pictures that are still on my Windows Movie Maker? Even when I click on "new project". Can I just delete them without removing them from my Picasa picture file? -- conniejohn ... 26 Feb 2010 16:29

i can't open a windows movie maker proyect in new windows live mm
i tryed to open a file made by wmm 5.1 and i can not open it because says the it is corrupt or something similar. so, after that i tryed to open it back in the old 5.1 movie maker, and was successfull opened. do anybody know a converter? ... 26 Feb 2010 08:33

codec required
I am trying to import an mpeg2 file into WMM. I choose Import into Collections, choose my mpeg2 file and receive the message, "File cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer." Cut Video Leave Audio
I think it is called A/B roll, or something like that, anyway, is it possible to cut/insert pictures into the video timeline but leave the audio alone, so it still is playing the original audio track over the pictures? Scrachin my head on this one. Thanks. ... 17 Feb 2010 13:24

Edit effects
WMM v 2.1.4026 I can't seem to find a way to edit effects. especially fade in from black, fade out to black. the duration says 2 seconds but seems more like 1. it's way too fast, makes videos look hokey.
