I confirm it is working with latest versions of MicroPlanet Gravity with 2 objections: 1) Subject is decoded correctly, but From field is not , even if they seem to be encoded by the same way - contacted Gravity developer 2) There is problem with readers like Gravity taht are not processing html content. There should be bridge possibility to filter html tags. -- Poutnik The best depends on how the best is defined.

Charlie, I have been trying to use NNTP Bridge for a week or so now. I find it extraordinarily slow, with frequent messages popping up indicating the server has unexpectedly closed my connection, at which point my newsreader waits 60 sec and then tries again. I am using Forte Agent (4.2) and Agent is listed as being compatible. I have tried selecting to NOT download message bodies along with the headers to no avail. Any suggestions? I have installed v1.1, it took ages to down-load the groups list. I don't know how fast/slow it is because the names in the group list don't seem to bear any relationship to the Usenet names... -- Jeff Gaines Dorset UK That's an amazing invention but who would ever want to use one of them? From: Charlie Russel - MVP on 15 May 2010 09:33 Initial speed is slow, but after that first hit it seems adequate. I know several heavy users of Agent who are using it (but with the latest version of Agent - 6.0.) I've been trying it out myself and finally think I'm getting the hang of it. -- Charlie. http://msmvps.com/blogs/russel "Ron Rosenfeld" <ronrosenfeld(a)nospam.org> wrote in message news:iv4tu5dciuc1nesr9l1p3l2g8j0ajlduvr(a)4ax.com... > On Mon, 10 May 2010 08:28:12 -0700, "Charlie Russel - MVP" > <Charlie(a)mvKILLALLSPAMMERSps.org> wrote: > >>For those of you lamenting the end of microsoft.public NNTP newsgroups, >>and >>not particularly looking forward to using web forums, check out: >> >>https://connect.microsoft.com/MicrosoftForums >> >>This is free, it is actually still being developed and worked on, and it >>does work.
