I may do that. I was able to cure the popping although I'm not sure exactly
what was causing it. I will continue to configure.

I turned back on the Lan and audio with no problems. I have considered dual
boot and may go there. I'm going to continue trimming.

Ya, I thought it might be sharing with a lot of other things. Funny, it's
even sharing with your video card. I think mine was on 16 as well. I guess
the IRQ sharing thing just doesn't matter any more with these more powerful
machines, not that we can do much about sharing in windows anyway.

What I found to be causing the problems was back ground services, processes
and systray stuff. All the software wants to get into your system and always
be running. Automatic is not always nice.
