Check your MacSoup settings , the 'incoming' page and 'no batched NNTP
commands' checkbox. This is off on mine.

Having been an Opera browser user for too many years to mention, (I paid
for it :-) I happened to try the newsreader in it a few months ago. I
haven't been back to MacSoup since, I just wish I could remap Opera's keys
to the MacSoup defaults that I've grown used to....

If only I could remap MacSoup's keys
to something that makes more sense,
