Anyone having trouble with the O2 network. I have been speaking to O2 for
the past week, regarding not being able to make or receive calls
intermittently. They sent me out a new sim and I still have the same
problem so I think it is probably network related. Anyone else had problems
I am in Cheshire.

Maybe it's because it's an iPhone not a phone?

Let me guess, you don't like Apple! O2 have confirmed they do seem to have
some Network problems at the minute.

I have recently moved my main number from O2 to Vodafone. I often had
problems making calls or calls dropping for no apparent reason when I
would have good signal. Similarly, incoming calls would sometimes go
to voicemail when I would be in the local town centre, for example,
with a really good signal. I guess the network was often too busy?
Data was also far from a fault-free service. It was good whilst it
worked (no real speed complaints from me, as many people report), but
there were days sometimes when it would not work at all.

Since moving to Vodafone the service has been fault-free as it was
when I used them in the past. I'm not saying that everything about
Vodafone is great, but a phone is meant to function as a phone and
with O2 that wasn't always the case!

Forgive the rant!

I'm sorry, just ribbing - me old anti-fanboi habbits die hard. Used to
disparage it as an 'iToy' a year ago on a certain iphone newsgroup
littered with the warfare.

I do like Apple things (ipod Touch / iTunes & iTunes XML & API under
Win32) but personally my mobile phone has to be cheap, reliable, fuss
free and disposable. It's also got to fit in the front pocket of my
jeans. I see none of that (yet) in the iPhone - but it's a fun thing
none the less.

Enjoy it. One day they will make one for me :)
