From: Andy Hewitt on 26 Mar 2010 12:56 I'm wanting to print some of my landscapes out, but have got bored with them all being 10x8. I had thought about saving for an A3 printer, but I just couldn't justify the cost against the number I want to print. I also don't want to send off for specialised printing either, again ther costs are more than I'd want. Besides, I like to experiment a bit. Most of what I want to print is likely to be in panoramic view, so it seems reasonable that I could just stick longer sheets of paper through my A4 printer. Is that possible, and any recommendations for paper? Cheers. -- Andy Hewitt <http://web.me.com/andrewhewitt1/>

I suppose that will depend on your printer - you don't quote the make, let alone the model. But in mine (an Epson), if you go to Page Setup and look at the Paper Size drop-down menu, there is an item at the bottom that says "Manage custom sizes". If you have this, you should be able to set up whatever size you want. Whether the printer will obey you is another matter.... John. -- Please reply to john at yclept dot wanadoo dot co dot uk.

Sorry, didn't think that really mattered at this point. It's a Canon Pixma iP4500, and yes it does manage custom sizes. I've not yet come across a printer that didn't have custom sizes. > But in mine (an Epson), if you go to Page Setup and look at the Paper > Size drop-down menu, there is an item at the bottom that says "Manage > custom sizes". Yeah, that was what I was wondering before I go and buy some expensive paper. It's whether it can manage sizes outside the paramaters of A4 is what I'm wondering. -- Andy Hewitt <http://web.me.com/andrewhewitt1/>

Good point, I might just to that :-) -- Andy Hewitt <http://web.me.com/andrewhewitt1/> |
