From: Peter Ceresole on 26 Mar 2010 15:56 I can't raise Google Earth. I get an error message saying it can't connect to the server. I've done the trouble shooting they suggest; deleted the dbCache file and its index file, downloaded the latest Google Earth application 5.1.3533.1731 Nothing doing. Google Maps is a pretty good substitute, especially since they extended the uk coverage of Street View, which makes it a lot more useful that Google Earth. But still... Any ideas? -- Peter

But still... Any ideas? Working fine here but then, you were posting an hour ago, anything could have happened since... -- David Kennedy http://www.anindianinexile.com

Nope; it's still broken here, and has been for several days. Clearly something wrong at my end. I need to try with Anne's MBP, but our small grandson is sleeping in that room, so it can wait till tomorrow. Thanks anyway... -- Peter

It's working here but not 100%. When I zoom on a photo it works fine but, if I change location and then try to zoom it reverts to the previous one... -- David Kennedy http://www.anindianinexile.com

But here it simply tells me that it can't connect to http://kh.google.com:80/ I can traceroute there okay, and I don't have a firewall running, so as I say I'll have to try tomorrow on Anne's MBP. -- Peter
