Confusing Units
I just learned how to convert units involving acres and hectares, and I've half learned to convert nautical mile to terrestrial miles. This took me even longer than learning to convert esu (stat-coulombs) to Coulombs. I'm still a little uncertain about emu, but I'm pretty sure they're the same as esu, since B & E... 2 Mar 2010 15:49

Solar-pumped laser power transmission, a way to dramatically ?decrease launch costs?
In sci.space.history Damien Valentine <valends3(a)gmail.com> wrote: So let's recap (since there's an awful lot of quoting being thrown around). Mr. Mook mentioned a "superlaser", which is a device from the "Star Wars" franchise. Someone criticized this plan, since it relies on a device that doesn't exis... 1 Mar 2010 17:37

Was Einstein indeed "Very Great"?
My website has a wide variety of pages, including one where I say flattering things about Einstein, implying he and Newton are the two greatest physicists ever. I'm not a physicist, and not qualified to judge, but the claim agrees with almost all the facts and opinions I've ever read. Lately two readers hav... 27 Mar 2010 09:37

New report «Theories reducing to Coulombian electrodynamics, relativistic electrodynamics doesn't»
A new Research report (50+ pages) is available for download. Very important physical and philosophical consequences arise from this work. This Research report analyzes the internal consistency of different theories of electrodynamics, their compatibility with Coulombian electrodynamics, and their confrontation... 1 Mar 2010 19:53
Ad Infinitum really means Ad Negatorum; the concepts of "forever and endless and nonstopping" are fictions #474 Correcting Math
Previously I wrote that I like to nail these three theorems or proofs: 1) Finite-Selection Theorem 2) Infinity means "negative numbers" 3) Endlessness, infinity, forever, nonstopping, are concepts that are fictional and impossible to exist I am now totally confident that the above three are true. The trouble wi... 27 Feb 2010 15:28

Quantum Gravity 359.9: Laurent Series versus Causal Probability Series k1 P ' (A-->B) + k2 P ' (B-->A) + ...
From Osher Doctorow In complex analysis, the Laurent series is like the Taylor Series except that the former includes inverse positive integer powers rather than only positive integer powers of the variable z. Let us consider the two simplest terms of a Laurent Series such as: 1) b/(z - a) + c(z - a) Usin... 27 Feb 2010 02:22
