From: D.M. Procida on 21 Mar 2010 19:12 Why do some applications - Pages is the most obvious culprit - treat a document as modified after it has been printed? It's a bloody nuisance; I presume it's in order to save the Printed: metadata, but even so it wouldn't be worth it for the confusion it creates about the state of one's work. Is there any way of turning this off? Daniele

Does "Undo" undo whatever change was made to the doc? I don't suppose it'll ask you to put the printed pages into the recycling bin or what have you to complete the job... -- Chris

No. Load a document, print it, it's marked as changed, but undo is still greyed out. Load a document, type some text, print it, and undo undoes the typing but leaves it marked as changed. -- Richard -- Please remember to mention me / in tapes you leave behind.

But it's clunky, and won't work if you've revised, saved and printed in that order. FWIW, Word and all the Office apps do this same thing as Pages. Easiest, if you are confident that you can remember what you've just done since you last saved, so you don't need to save again, is simply to close the document after printing, but without saving. Cmd-W, Cmd-D. Extremely easy. Perfectly neat. -- Peter
