OK, but I'm still completely confused as to what you are saying and what I
need to do to fix the problem. ?????

What exactly is converting it? Are they using the drop-down box
feature in Outlook (the Nickname list)? If so, have them delete the
drop-down box entry by arrowing down, hitting the delete key, then use
the GAL to lookup the user (hit the To: button, search for the user,
select the user), then send it.

Not sure of your scenario, but if it was a migration, the drop-down
box entry may have a different ORG identifier associated with it, even
though the display name is the same.

I think I know what the problem and Ace hit with the "org" info. Part of
the conversion to a new server was taking over their old .nk2 cache file to
their email. In that cache file where the internal email addresses as well
as external. The internal addresses reference the same email address BUT
with a new server it's a different org so who they think they are sending to
the new server has no idea who they are.

My solution is to extract all of the names from the .nk2 file and import
them into the user's individual contacts (only including external email
address). Then I will delete the .nk2 file and let Outlook start all over
again with a "fresh" cache of names. That way we get a fresh start and each
user doesn't fully lose the external email addresses they spent so much time
creating via the cache. I also told them I think this is better for them
because the .nk2 file may is considered temporary and could go away and they
will lose all of those addresses. If they have it as part of their
individual contacts it will stick with the Exchange and the backups.

Am I missing something? Any better ideas/thoughts?

Thanks!!!
