From: Richard K on 27 Apr 2010 13:28 I am having a problem with a new SBS2008 server that I can't figure out. It revolves around internal email that I can see (1 user on same server sending to another user on the same). It is also not happening with all of the 12 clients on the SBS2008, only a few of them where emails are getting rejected. I looked up their information in the SBS2008 and all looks good to me. Here is a sample of the reject. cma.local is the local domain and "Melonie" is trying send to "Joann". I looked up Joann's info in SBS2008 AD and Exchange 2007 and she as email addresses for both joann(a)cma.local and joann(a)crockmy.com (primary) What am I missing? Thanks! -Richard _____________________________________________ From: Microsoft Exchange Sent: Tuesday, April 27, 2010 1:12 PM To: Melonie Collini Subject: Undeliverable: Delivery has failed to these recipients or distribution lists: Joann Eyler The recipient's e-mail address was not found in the recipient's e-mail system. From: Cliff Galiher - MVP on 27 Apr 2010 17:32 Looks like outlook has cached an X.<legacy> address and is trying to deliver using that instead of the SMTP address. Migration gone bad? Someone went in and deleted the old legacy non-SMTP addresses without cleaning out the clients? Regardless, the solution is to either add the legacy addresses or delete the cached address from the outlook profiles exhibiting the issue. -Cliff "Richard K" <rkokoski(a)foxdtechllc.com> wrote in message news:Ot8$D8i5KHA.5952(a)TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > I am having a problem with a new SBS2008 server that I can't figure out. > It revolves around internal email that I can see (1 user on same server > sending to another user on the same). From: Richard K on 27 Apr 2010 22:16 But that's the part that does not make any sense. When the user types in a local email address using the FQDN (e.g. mel(a)crockmy.com) outlook is converting it to mel(a)cma.local (local domain). cma.local IS a valid address. When I go into Exchange 2007 and at the mel mailbox I see 2 valid email addresses for mel (mel(a)cma.local and mel(a)crockmy.com as the primary). So why is the mail getting rejected?
