Many are amazed at Wheeler's Delayed Choice experiment results, but that's because they want to understand it from their own perspective. They want to understand it applying spacetime rules, and that's the problem. At the quantum level, you need to toss away the notions of time and distance. For you, who live at the spacetime level, the photon has maybe traveled billions of miles and taken millions of light years to arrive, but at the quantum level, its emission, detection, and measurement, has happened instantaneously. In our world, it appears that, as we measure the particle, we are deciding the path the photon had taken millions of years before; when in reality, the emission and detection of the particle happened instantaneously. After emitted, the photon remains timelessly suspended in hyperspace until detected or measured. Then, as its state is decided and the state vector collapses, it materializes into spacetime; our level in existence. So, it isn't our knowledge which collapses the state vector, it is perception. What perceives it could be anything, dead or alive, the particle's state will be defined either way. As we already know, matter and space are one and the same thing (Einstein), matter tells space how to bend and space tells matter where to go (Mach). The way science sees it, matter is nothing more than condensed space. And, in my view, when I talk about a particle, I might as well be talking about a human being. To me, a man is nothing more than an uber particle, so to speak. And that's because I believe in the evolution of matter. Matter, to me, is synonymous to information; active information, to be precise. Also, as we should know, there is a wave-particle duality (de Broglie, Schrödinger, Bohm). The particle is always accompanied by a self scanning wave, or standing wave, where all the information concerning the geometrical properties of the particle is contained. This wave is called a matter wave and can be mathematically described by a wave function. Each time the wave function collapses, or we have a state vector reduction, the rock-like state of that particle is defined in spacetime, as required by spacetime laws. The particle existing in a rock-like state only at the now moment. That is why it is vibrating. At the quantum level, motion occurs the way it is created on a TV screen. As you may know, a TV screen refreshes 60 times per second or so, that's how motion is created. Imagine the fundamental particle as a vibrating 3D system refreshing its structure over a trillion times per second (Planck time). A standing, self-scanning, spherical wave with a rock-like particle at the center. [Motion and time may seem like illusions, but the process that is reality is certainly not. Now, quickly rolling a film in front of the lens inside a movie projector in order to produce a motion picture... that's an illusion!] So, each time there is a wave packet collapse, the now state of the particle is defined. Then and only then, can the particle materialize into spacetime; where the laws of Thermodynamics and Relativity apply. It can behave as either one or the other - as you wish. All you need to do is set up experiments treating it one way or the other and it will accomidate you. The speed at which it accomidates you is instantaneous throughout the universe, because there are no forces involved in this process, it is strictly an aspect of the fabric of spacetime. As a thought experiment: I send someoen out to fetch me some "random quantity of rope". I did not specify whather I wanted a continuous piece or discrete chunks. When that person returns to me, depending on how I ask - I should be able to get either answer. If I ask "how many chunks did you bring" I should get a discretized answer. If I dont ask "how many chunks" then by default I must ask "how big is the piece" which would neccesarily be continuous. This is exactly what happens in the double slit experiment, and why we have which-way information. If I fill the entire universe with servants and send them all out to fetch me some "random amount of rope", then the same process explained above should be instantaneous throughout the entire universe. I should be able to expect that the entire universe will contain discrete chunks if I ask for that, or alternatively it would be filled with continuous pieces if I ask for that. This should happen instantaneously because it is really indeterminate whether the rope is continuous or discrete until it has been brought back to me at which point I must ask for one or the other. As soon as I have asked for one or the other - it must be instantaneous that an entire universe filled with rope would neccesarily comply. By asking whether continuous or discrete, I am really getting which way information. It has to be instantaneous and the whole thing is dirt simple.

The following is an explanation of what occurs in nature in a 'delayed choice quantum eraser' experiment. Following the explanation are two experiments which will provide evidence of Aether Displacement. This means the downgraded photon pair have opposite angular momentums. We will describe one of the photons as being the 'up' photon and the other photon as being the 'down' photon. One of the downgraded photons travels either the red or blue path towards D0 and the other photon travels either the red or blue path towards the prism. There are physical waves in the aether propagating both the red and blue paths. The aether waves propagating towards D0 interact with the lens and create interference prior to reaching D0. The aether waves create interference which alters the direction the photon travels prior to reaching D0. There are actually two interference patterns being created at D0. One associated with the 'up' photons when they arrive at D0 and the other interference pattern associated with the 'down' photons when they arrive at D0. Both 'up' and 'down' photons are reflected by BSa and arrive at D3. Since there is a single path towards D3 there is nothing for the wave in the aether to interfere with and there is no interference pattern and since it is not determined if it is an 'up' or 'down' photon being detected at D3 there is no way to distinguish between the photons arriving at D0 which interference pattern each photon belongs to. The same for photons reflected by BSb and arrive at D4. Photons which pass through BSa and are reflected by BSc and arrive at D1 are either 'up' or 'down' photons but not both. If 'up' photons arrive at D1 then 'down' photons arrive at D2. The opposite occurs for photons which pass through BSb. Physical waves in the aether are traveling both the red and blue paths and when the paths are combined the waves create interference which alters the direction the photon 'particle' travels. Experiments which will provide evidence of Aether Displacement: Experiment #1: Instead of having a single beam splitter BSc have two beam splitters BSca and BScb. Have the photons reflected by mirror Ma interact with BSca and have the photons reflected by mirror Mb interact with BScb. Do not combine the red and blue paths. Have additional detectors D1a, D2a, D1b, and D2b. Have the photons reflected by and propagate through BSca be detected at D1a and D2a. Have the photons reflected by and propagate through BScb be detected at D1b and D2b. If you compare the photons detected at D1a and D1b with the photons detected at D0, the corresponding photons detected at D0 will form an interference pattern. If you compare the photons detected at D2a and D2b with the photons detected at D0, the corresponding photons detected at D0 will form an interference pattern. What is occurring is all 'up' photons are being detected at one pair of detectors, for example D1a and D1b, and all 'down' photons are being detected at the other pair of detectors, for example D2a and D2b. Interference patterns do not even need to be created in order to 'go back' and determine the interference patterns created at D0. Experiment #2: Alter the experiment. When the downgraded photon pair are created, have each photon interact with its own double slit apparatus. Have detectors at one of the exits for each double slit apparatus. When a photon is detected at one of the exits, in AD, the photon's aether wave still exists and is propagating along the path exiting the other slit. When a photon is not detected at one of the exits, the photon 'particle' along with its associated aether wave exits the other slit. Combine the path the aether wave the detected photon is propagating along with the path of the other photon and its associated aether wave. An interference pattern will still be created. When that person returns, he MUST posses a piece of paper which is a superposition of all colors. We dont know what color it actually is until I ask: [1] What shade of blue is it ? or maybe [2] What shade of red did you bring ? etc It's not very difficult really - to see that this is indeed the case. You dont know what color it is until you ask, and then you will have any color you wish. That is QM.

That is QM. A moving particle has an associated aether wave. In a double slit experiment, the moving particle ALWAYS enters and exits a single slit and the wave enters and exits both slits. Upon exiting the slits the wave creates interference which alters the direction the particle travels. Detecting the particle causes decoherence of the associated aether wave (i.e. turns it into chop) and there is no interference. That is what occurs physically in nature.
