From: SuperGumby [SBS MVP] on 2 Apr 2010 19:33 No they are not. They are attached to CERC ATA. The CERC controller appears as a RAID device and basically 'pretends' to be a SCSI object but the ATA bit gives it away. Most ATA RAID does same. Grab 2*250GB ATA drives, RAID them, copy the install across. If you must. "J" <japhyrider2005(a)yahoo.com> wrote in message news:b1c9eb60-de93-4004-8e7a-bce4d9a394a2(a)r18g2000yqd.googlegroups.com... From: SuperGumby [SBS MVP] on 2 Apr 2010 19:34 pretty sure I'm right that they are ATA but the OP is being confused as the controller appears as 'SCSI and RAID devices' in devman. I agree, the ATA in all the Cerc/Perc controllers means IDE and not SATA or SCIS, but the Device Manager always shows SCSI.... Maybe he should run a BELARC report so that he knows exactly what is in the machine. -- You can't trust your best friends, your five senses, only the little voice inside you that most civilians don't even hear -- Listen to that. it's misleading, at best. Some(many? most?) ATA RAID actually do talk to Windows in a SCSIlike manner, supporting, fer instance, live add/remove of the 'apparent drive(s)' they present to the OS. Others simply show in that section because it is 'SCSI' and 'RAID', not 'SCSI RAID'. Get the distinction?
