From: "Robbin Meng [MSFT]" on 14 Oct 2009 04:41 Hello, Thanks for your post. First, I would like to ask do you remember what Service Pack or update or 3rd party application you recently installed or upgraded that may caused this issue? Have you restarted the SBS server? If you have VERITAS Backup Exec as well as other antispyware and the antivirus software, if possible, please temporarily disable them and test the issue again. Also, you may try to create a new report and test if it receives the same error when clicking the "Generate Report" button. Meanwhile, since I didn't find any useful information according to the error message "The system cannot find the file specified. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070002)", to get more information, please run Small Business Server 2008 Best Practices Analyzer. The Windows Small Business Server 2008 Best Practices Analyzer examines a server that is running Windows Small Business Server 2008 (Windows SBS) and presents a list of information and errors that administrators should review. From: wcutler on 15 Oct 2009 10:26 sbs 2008 sp1 Doing more research I can get the reports to work just can't run summary and update Reports. Updates tab in security section in the console does not reflect latest updates for pcs
From: pecoswild on 15 Oct 2009 19:36 Was a solution found to this problem? I'm having the same issue. I ran the best practices analyzer and did take care of the few things it reported. It made no difference. The reports work working until about June of this year and suddenly stopped. It kills the SBS console exactly as described. -- pecoswild
From: "Robbin Meng [MSFT]" on 16 Oct 2009 05:15 Hello, Thanks for your response. Regarding the Updates tab in security section does not reflect latest updates for PCs, have you restarted the WSUS service on the SBS server? Also, does the WSUS 3.0 SP1 console encounters the same issue that cannot reflect latest updates for PCs? Please open the Microsoft WSUS 3.0 SP1 console from Administrative Tools to check it. At this point, please run the following commands on all client computers as well as the SBS server to troubleshoot this issue: net stop bits net stop wuauserv net start wuauserv net start bits wuauclt /detectnow wuauclt /reportnow Then restart the SBS server and check this issue again. If the issue persists however, please check if there is any event log warning/error for WSUS service and post back the errors founded.
