I agree. It seems checking many of the newsgroups, there seems to be
increase spam activity, which I think is their last ditch effort to
get their junk out before the newsgroups close.

This junk is one thing I will not miss! :-)

I suspect there is less attention being given the NNTP spam posts as the
word has already been given 'the end is near' (and for some groups, has
already come).

Yea, I've noticed the Windows Server DNS newsgroup no longer exists!
Not that it was that active, but I was an active responder in that
group. <sigh> However, I've been active lately now in the Social NIS
and DS forums using the Community Bridge and web access. The only
thing I don't like about the bridge, is you can't set an email
notification alert.
