The only thing I can think is that running it on another OS might cause it
to be behave differently if it's an OS thing, but if it's the app dropping
the connection it'll behave the same everywhere.

So how many platforms does Three Skype run on? So far as I know:

BREW (eg Skypephone)
J2ME (eg Nokia, SE)
Android (beta, HTC Hero only)

Any more?

What might be interesting is if other national Three networks have Skype
apps that work on other platforms because they have different tie-ins. For
example, Three Australia sell the iPhone 3G (but there's no Skype app
listed). Another 'random' phone they sell and say supports Skype is the
Huawei U7510 - whether that's the J2ME client or something native I'm not
sure.

Does Symbian give you a way to run apps at startup? I think it might, but
I'm not 100% sure. That'll only be helpful if the app will login
automatically on startup.

It's rather disappointing about the disconnection problem, as I was hoping
to have a phone with Skype that's slightly more featureful (eg QWERTY
keyboard) than the S2.
