I know its a known issue, but has anyone found a cure for it.

Mine regularly switches itself off without any notice.

The only time you realise it is off is when you try to use the phone. Is
there a cure, or is it time to give it the big hammer?

I must say that if this problem wasn't there it is quite a good phone. Not
much use if it wont stay on though is it?

I have two of these, both bought brand new froma three shop, both same
problem (both over a year old)

My sons S2 has started to do this occasionally, it would appear to be
a firmware issue that identifies the battery as almost flat when it isn't.
other than fitting a brand new battery
or hoping that new firmware will be made available the only advice I can give
is to keep the contacts clean (But I've no evidence that will work)

Thanks Graham

I think I will dump it, I am sick of the problem.

A mobile phone that randomly goes off, is no use to me at all.....

Anyone know what happened to the SkypePhone S3?
Just checked and they are now pushing an S2x manufactured by ZTE, which
looks like a downgraded version of the S2, with a lower resolution camera
and not as nice a design as the S2.

Thanks again.

Hi,

Is there a way to check the firmware on the S2?

What firmware is yours?

I have just got a new one so I would like to know if they have
corrected the issue.

Also Graham I have been playing with your way to forward skype calls to
VoIP and it worked well. Is there a way to port a voip number to ring
the mobile phone by using skype? I have already set up a number by
using Ring2skype but you have to use an extension. Could you use
Asterisk for this?

Thanks

Nigel

http://www.dc-unlocker.com/

will read the phones firmware ready to buy a flash to unlock it

Shows my S2 as S2_V14.8_UK
