Another Good Argument for not leaping to jump on the bandwagon of a New OS.

From: Hubert on
I did not express myself clearly enough, I went to the Dell site and also to
the Roxio site and each had a notice with instructions to eliminate the error
message.
In the Roxio answer there is this comment un der "Cause":
"Through a clerical error. a driver is incorrectly being blocked as
incompatible with Windows Vista. In fact all Easy Media Creator 9 products
including the latest version of MyDVD and Record Now are fully compatible
with Windows Vista".
Thanks for your post,
Hubert.

Re: This driver is blocked due to compatibility issues - Sonic Solutions

had problem with new dell vista home premium desktop.
only answering as a dell system customer, & their fix which worked for me.

first area i searched was this forum:
http://www.dellcommunity.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=vista&thread.id=8536
(page six has answer)

in the forum was a link to roxio. it discusses cause:
http://kb.roxio.com/content/kb/Creator/000131CR (this page loads slowly)

the dell fix is here:
http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/en/document?c=us&docid=2872567F1A1D49A3E040A68F5B28196E&journalid=18940F4FBEEB11DB9DC1AF19BD307B73&l=en&s=gen

i'm offering my experience only with a new dell system, e521 model. i am not
experienced enough to offer tech advice. i come here for that. only trying
to pay back for what these microsoft newsgroups have given so freely to me!

thank you. len kiesling

How much you get paid for being a Microsoft shill Dale?

From: Dale on
Read my comments in the thread about gadgets. Or in any thread about DRM.
Or read where the Microsoft employee who plays distracter in the Windows
Media Player groups calls me evil.

I'm not a Microsoft shill at all.

But this is not a case of each company pointing their finger and neither
taking responsibility. This is definitely Sonic's responsibility. They new
it was coming.
