I see the Apple store is down (worldwide, from a random sample of NZ, US
and UK stores).

And it is early Tuesday in the US. Normal day on which Apple releases
new Mac models...

New MacBook Pros, perhaps?

And perhaps lower prices. Last time new MacBook Pros came out the
pound had recently been at a very poor level against the dollar.

GBP is a smidge poorer today.
Last MacBoook Pro release was 8-Jun-2009 $1=0.6260
Today $1=0.6409

A rather useful resource it are.

Right, but presumably they don't set prices based on the rate on the
day. It had been a lot lower in the preceding few months, and they
had quite likely planned to change accordingly when the next set of
products came out.

Anyway, the store's back up but I've no idea what, if anything, has
changed. The MBPs are all still Core 2 Duo, and the prices look much
the same.

I think it's just Aperture 3. Why they have to take the site down
for two hours just for that is beyond me.
