Lately, when I go to sync my iPod I get the following message:

iTunes could not sync information to the iPod "Robert
Peirce's iPod" because another sync client is already
running.

Restarting the computer solves the problem, but there ought to be a
better way. Why does it think there is another sync client and how do I
get rid of it?

I wonder if this is related to the problem(s) you are having with login
(possibly caused by LogMeIn).

I don't have time to find the commands just now (perhaps someone else
can), but next time this error appears, I would run a command-line
command to see what sync services are running, and try to determine why
they are running.
