Have you managed to compile TOra with oracle support using dpkg-buildpackage? I used to be able to just by setting oracle's env variables. Something has changed, though, and now I get these messages after issuieng dpkg-buildpackage: -- Found Oracle: /usr/lib/oracle/11.1/client64/lib/libclntsh.so (ORACLE_HOME='/usr/lib/oracle/11.1/client64') -- Found XML Oracle: ORACLE_INCLUDES_XML-NOTFOUND ORACLE_LIBRARY_XML-NOTFOUND -- Oracle not found. -- Oracle: You can specify includes: -DORACLE_PATH_INCLUDES=/usr/include/oracle/10.2.0.3/client -- currently found includes: ORACLE_INCLUDES-NOTFOUND -- Oracle: You can specify libs: -DORACLE_PATH_LIB=/usr/lib/oracle/10.2.0.3/client/lib -- currently found libs: /usr/lib/oracle/11.1/client64/lib/libclntsh.so -- No Oracle OCI found. TOra will be build without Oracle support Note that it first stats that it has found Oracle in /usr/lib/oracle/11.1/client64, but then says that Oracle was not found. What do I have to do in order to compile it with Oracle support? I am using Oracle InstantClient 11.1 libs converted from rpm do deb with alien in a squeeze box. sqlplus works fine. Thanks in advance for any insight on this. Regards, Cassiano Leal -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-REQUEST(a)lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? No, didn't have time when I needed it and when I don't I don't have time to do the deb building. > > I used to be able to just by setting oracle's env variables. TOra will be build without Oracle support Sorry, I can not help you in this. I just downloaded the tora code and compiled it against my oracle sdk which is in the /opt/oracle dir. (I mean I've put it there and setup all I need to use it thisway) > > > Note that it first stats that it has found Oracle in > /usr/lib/oracle/11.1/client64, but then says that Oracle was not > found. > > What do I have to do in order to compile it with Oracle support? > > I am using Oracle InstantClient 11.1 libs converted from rpm do deb > with alien in a squeeze box. sqlplus works fine. > So you are asking me how I did manage to compile it in kde 3.5? First you need the sdk. I've put it in each version dir respectively. This is an extra package. Also why would you convert something from rpm to deb, when you can go to the vendor and download for free the real code? I've downloaded and put all I need in /opt/oracle ll /opt/oracle/ общо 20 drwxr-xr-x 5 root root 4096 6 яну 14,37 . drwxr-xr-x 7 root root 4096 14 дек 2,22 .. drwxr-xr-x 3 emanoil emanoil 4096 22 ное 16,58 instantclient_10_2 drwxr-xr-x 3 emanoil emanoil 4096 14 дек 0,35 instantclient_11_1 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 6 яну 14,37 lib -> instantclient_11_1 drwxr-xr-x 3 emanoil emanoil 4096 22 ное 16,54 network export ORACLE_HOME="/opt/oracle/instantclient_11_1" export TNS_ADMIN="/opt/oracle/network/admin" export PATH=/opt/oracle/instantclient_11_1:$PATH ../configure --prefix=/usr --with-instant-client \ --with-oracle-includes=/opt/oracle/instantclient_11_1/sdk/include \ --with-oracle-libraries=/opt/oracle/instantclient_11_1 \ --with-oci-version=11G make make install that's it. I have to admit that for me the biggest challenge was to download the packages I need from the Oracle site. I remember I've tried to debianize once but it failed and I gave up, because I didn't have the time. regards -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-REQUEST(a)lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
