I agree, but given my graphics card is playing up then it's cheaper than a new Mac. When I get 10 min I'll pull my Pro to bits and blow out all the cobwebs; if this doesn't work I've no option but to get a 4870, and will of course post experiences should this occur. Re-seating the card may also help, Jan

You have a xt1900 no? MAJOR cobweb problems with them. Once they seriously overheat (long session of loud fan) they don't ever fully recover. Mine got so the heat sink ribs were totally blocked with carpet fibres and it was crashing the mac once a day. Once cobweb blowing fell to diminishing returns, I swapped the fan for an Accelero X2 from Arctic cooling, which comes with a better heat sink and does not attempt to blow the hot air out the mount slot grille. It ran much quieter and cooler and was more reliable for a while. But its early youth caught up with it. I still have the 1900 and all the bits from both fans. You want to cobble together a working one? It's yours for the postage. Personally I'd save the postage. Trying to make that dog of a card work is not worth the stamps. -- To de-mung my e-mail address:- fsnospam$elliott$$ PGP Fingerprint: 1A96 3CF7 637F 896B C810 E199 7E5C A9E4 8E59 E248

This one has had an Accelero most of its life; I don't think it overheated much before then so I'm happy to simply say these are pretty rubbish cards. Nonethess, many thanks for the kind offer.
