From: Peter James on 16 May 2010 06:34 I have posted on this topic before, and in spite of much advice am still not able to open the following two sites using Safari and strangely enough, Opera. http://mapwow.com/ http://www.wowwiki.com/Portal:Main The other strange behaviour of both browsers is that on certain sites that use pop-ups that contain printable material that I want, I can't copy to the printer. So at http://www.wowpopular.com/Fire/Mage/Talents hitting the show button will show a specific build that is printable, but in my case, won't print. What is does is bring up a blank screen. The fact that both browsers act the same is, to my mind odd. Is there something in the settings of the computer that could account for such strange behaviour. I'm using a iMac 3.33.GHz Intel core 2 Duo with 4 GB or ram and OS X 10.6.3 and using Safari 4.0.5 I've cleared the cache on both browsers, along with history and checked the settings. In each case Java is allowed, and for the purposes of this excercise all cookies. Any help will be gratefully recieved. I use Safari Version 4.0.5 (6531.22.7), on an Intel Mac using Mac OS X Version 10.6.3. The only difference from what is stated above is that I have a 2.16 GHz processor and 2 GB of memory. My suggestion would be to create a bootable backup of your system using such as SuperDuper! and then use AppZapper to remove the browsers. Following that I'd one-by-one reinstall the browsers, giving each one a test. If this doesn't produce improved results you can have the option of restoring the present state using your bootable backup, following which you could explore other options. -- James Leo Ryan Austin, Texas

Maybe try alternate DNS servers (google has free ones, likewise opendns) and/or flushing your local DNS cache? -- If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.

If you aren't running Little Snitch (or something like it) <http://www.obdev.at/products/littlesnitch/index.html> Link is incase you haven't heard of Little Snitch. And you don't have a corrupted firewall screwing things up, And you aren't running a bootleg copy of _ANY_ Adobe product, And you haven't recently updated Adobe Flash, legal or otherwise, Then you might find some helpful info on Apple's site. <http://discussions.apple.com/index.jspa> I'm on an Intel Mac, OS 10.5.8, and no problems either. -- Hypanthia, NElf, Shadow Priest, Enchantress/Herbalist, simi retired.
