From: Jeremy Wiebe on 17 Jan 2007 13:24 Thanks for the note Vinod. I went through the check (I'm on Vista RTM though) that Kai-Uwe v. d. Ohe posted and it shows that performance counter at 0. So it looks like I'm not getting the hardware assist. That's dissappointing though because I'm running a really new laptop with a Core 2 Duo processor. All the docs I can find state that the processor should support hardware VT. Is there any limitations running VPC 2007 (the RC build) on Vista? Thanks again, Jeremy "Vinod Atal [MSFT]" wrote: > Jeremy, > This issue was with beta build 6.0.122 > Please try latest RC1 build 6.0.142 and it will show "Not available" > > "Jeremy Wiebe" <JeremyWiebe(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:E619E04C-6E9F-4020-A198-1E0992315D15(a)microsoft.com... > > Thanks for the note Colin. > > > > I did go through my BIOS and couldn't find anything related to hardware > > virtualization. > > > > I guess I'll just hope that it's on. :-| > > > > Jeremy > > > > "Colin Barnhorst" wrote: > > > >> All Core Solo and Duo cpu's support hardware-assisted virtualization. > >> Check > >> your BIOS settings to see if it disabled there. From: Jeremy Wiebe on 17 Jan 2007 13:50 Earlier on in this thread I posted that I had looked through my BIOS... there's no mention of hardware virtualization or VT anywhere. So we're back to the question... why isn't it available?
