Thanks for the heads-up Frank. Now I know why the file size was so
reasonable. ;) Looks like I've got a fair amount of downloading yet to

Thanks for that. I am dimly aware of PhpGedView and some other genealogy
apps, most of them listed here:

but haven't found the time to try many of them out. Any minute now. . . ;)

The older version,3.1.1 is available in a full install package for
Windows,28.3 MB.

Thanks Dave. If I added up the numbers shown on the GRAMP's web page
correctly the current version requires about the same amount of
downloading - and I've already downloaded the GRAMP's file. I think I'll
just proceed ahead on (but maybe not today). ;)

And *I* installed the earlier version, and it looks interesting, but
has a few quirks and odd behaviors that I assume are corrected in the
newer one.. (crashes the program when I click on one category..)

I'll be interested to hear, Susan, if you get it working someday.
