I had thought of this, I've been using NX nut I hadn't installed it on
my current setup yet.

I thought I'd give it a spin.
But then I bumped into something that has nothing to do with my original
question though.

I installed the NX server on the virtual machine (ML4)
I started it headless and I'm typing now over ssh.

But no luck with NX client, this is what I get in client:
------------------------------------------------------------
NXPROXY - Version 3.4.0
Copyright (C) 2001, 2010 NoMachine.
See http://www.nomachine.com/ for more information.

Info: Proxy running in client mode with pid '31830'.
Session: Starting session at 'Mon Apr 5 08:39:11 2010'.
Error: Can't determine the location of the X display socket.
Error: Error 2 'No such file or directory' checking '/tmp/.X11-unix'.
Session: Session terminated at 'Mon Apr 5 08:39:11 2010'.
----------------------------------------------------------------

The server authenticates normally, it's just the X that won't run.

Then I installed NX also on my current main setup, 11.2.

Same result. This is odd, I've never had any issues with NX connections
before (latest main setup was 11.0).
