From: Vincent Xu [MSFT] on 28 Aug 2006 04:49 Hi Brooster, Thanks for your reply. I noticed that you said: "From the event log, on the ts, a userenv entry about being unable to unload profile" Please help me confirm that do you have the symptom like: when you logon, the user is prompted that the local is newer than the roam ? It appears that an application had a handle on the registry key preventing it from unloading and the result is all changes lost. Since this issue happens intermittently, it will be hard for us to troubleshooting in deed, which application prevent the profile from unloading. Regular process is rebuild the machine and loaded each application one be one to figure out with application was the problem. Based on my experience, I'd like to suggest you check if you installed some Anti-Virus application or some application always loaded in memory. These applications could be the prime criminal Thanks. Hope the information helps. From: Brooster on 28 Aug 2006 18:29 Hi Vincent, Users are not prompted with an error message regarding it... I have removed the GPO that deleted cached copies of roaming profiles, and since that I have not heard anyone having the issue anymore. The machine is freshly built, and deployed about a month ago.
From: Vincent Xu [MSFT] on 28 Aug 2006 22:34 Hi Brooster, Thanks for you reply. I'm glad to see the problem disappeared. As the problem happened randomly before, I still suggest you monitor this machine for a period. If this issue re-occur, please feel free to let me know. I'm glad to provide assistance. Have a good day! From: Brooster on 29 Aug 2006 23:21 I'm not sure, I think it has to do with either the GPO, or the UPHive Cleaner being removed...
