From: Gary Miller on 28 Jan 2010 09:02 Personally, I don't think I'd ever where a "man purse" or Indiana Jones style "satchel" to carry some techno geek item unless it was required for my job. Gary
From: Ginny Caughey on 28 Jan 2010 09:39 Gary, I don't think you're alone in this. And that's why I think the "cool factor" that does seem to come into play as Phil mentioned for the iPhone, which you could just whip out of a pocket and look "cool", doesn't quite work here. -- Ginny Caughey www.wasteworks.com "Gary Miller" <gary(a)lucero.com> wrote in message news:JNg8n.45073$s%.36249(a)newsfe18.iad... > Personally, I don't think I'd ever where a "man purse" or Indiana Jones > style "satchel" to carry some techno geek item unless it was required for > my job. > > Gary >
From: Martin on 28 Jan 2010 11:06 No Can't see a use for it compared to say a Windows or Linux netbook Only runs apple stuff, not whatever we could write. Not multitasking I hope it is a flop as I have seen to much about it already
From: Ginny Caughey on 28 Jan 2010 11:20 Martin, Well we *could* write for it if we learned Objective C and bought Macs for dev machines, but point taken. ;-) I guess we'd also need Apple to accept our apps too into their store too. I don't hope it flops, but I'm having a hard time seeing it as the home run that the iPhone was. But then I never realized some many people wouldn't miss a keyboard either. At least the iPad has an optional external one. -- Ginny Caughey www.wasteworks.com "Martin" <spam(a)spam.spam> wrote in message news:OBi8n.102072$6V1.99396(a)newsfe30.ams2... > No > > Can't see a use for it compared to say a Windows or Linux netbook > > Only runs apple stuff, not whatever we could write. > > Not multitasking > > I hope it is a flop as I have seen to much about it already >

Ginny, I am with you, here, I do not hope it flops. My VERY PERSONAL opinion is: as soon as the market starts, and numbers are good for iPad, here is the WinPad, almost identical, touch screen, same dimensions, etc etc, but capable to run all the software... we will see (I really don't see technical news) Massimo Bighelli www.arcasistemi.it "Ginny Caughey" <ginny.caughey.online(a)wasteworks.com> ha scritto nel messaggio news:00dd8611$0$17148$c3e8da3(a)news.astraweb.com... > Martin, > > Well we *could* write for it if we learned Objective C and bought Macs for > dev machines, but point taken. ;-) I guess we'd also need Apple to accept > our apps too into their store too. > > I don't hope it flops, but I'm having a hard time seeing it as the home > run that the iPhone was.
