From: Leythos on 22 Apr 2010 17:28 I've read the blogs and edits for the GPO settings, but I can't believe the MS is going to force us to fix this issue by editing a GPO instead of publishing a update for this. Do I really have to edit the GPO or is there an update I'm missing that will allow http://connect to work with Windows 7 for SBS 2008 server? -- You can't trust your best friends, your five senses, only the little voice inside you that most civilians don't even hear -- Listen to that. From: Chris Puckett [MSFT] on 22 Apr 2010 19:26 An update has been available for some time. You need to install SBS 2008 Update Rollup 3. 969121 Description of Windows Small Business Server 2008 Update Rollup 3 http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;969121 -- Chris Puckett This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. From: Chris Puckett [MSFT] on 23 Apr 2010 10:40 See if you have KB 961048 installed? 961048 Update rollups for Windows Small Business Server 2008 that are released through Microsoft Update are not automatically approved http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;961048 961048 should meet the default auto approve criteria of SBS 2008. After it is installed, SBS Update Rollups should be automatically approved for installation so that the SBS UR's no longer appear under Optional. -- Chris Puckett This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. Oh, man, what a day - spent 3 hours recovering from installing the optional updates on that customers server. Once I installed Share Point SP2 update the Companyweb stopped and I just happened to find a command to re-update it via a dos shell on one of the blogs - can't remember which one. This server is one of the first SBS 2008 installs we did, so it's old, but all critical updates were installed - it was the optional ones that really screwed the pooch. Anyway, it's all working and the Win 7 machines work fine as well as the Companyweb working again... -- You can't trust your best friends, your five senses, only the little voice inside you that most civilians don't even hear -- Listen to that.
