From: Larry Struckmeyer[SBS-MVP] on 5 Apr 2010 14:42 The two most common things that affect logons at the console are misconfigured DNS and very large profile data sets. Please confirm that *every* nic in your LAN points to the IP of the SBS for DNS, and that the identity connecting at the console dosen't have a large profile. Also, what AV are you using on that SBS, and what are the real time scan settings? - Larry Please post the resolution to your issue so others may benefit - Get Your SBS Health Check at www.sbsbpa.com > Hi! > > As far as we know nothing new was installed when it stopped working. > Windows Updates are applied manually and no major upgrade of AntiVirus > has been done lately. > > I added a new user awhile ago and then I realized that some services > had stopped working (webmail). From: EGON on 5 Apr 2010 15:14 A bit old thread (2005) and I did uninstall APC Powerchute eralier, so it's not the same issue: http://www.serverforumz.com/2003-SBS-Hangs-Applying-computer-Settings-ftopict46149.html That didn't help for me. The Eventviewer doesn't give me any feedback either... about problem to start anu services. br /Marcus "Jim" wrote: > On Mon, 5 Apr 2010 00:31:01 -0700, EGON > <EGON(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: > > >Hi! > > > >Our server has become really unstable! > > > >•When try to start Internet Explorer, the window doesn't show up but the > >process is started. > >•So, I can't reach Windows Update. > >•When open Server management and try to open Backup, Server management hangs > >and has to be killed hard. > >•When trying to re-run the "Internet" wizard in Server management, it hangs > >when the different steps are supposed to be configured (progress bar hangs > >att network configuration). > >•When reboot, the server hangs (or takes a really long time, i have not > >waited that long) on Logging out ... have to kill it hard. > >•When restart, from login until you see desktop, it takes hours! > >Does this sound familiar for anyone?
