From: klaus on 27 Mar 2007 19:56 Thanks Dennis! I can only choose setting S1 OR S3 (suspend to RAM) not both. What should I do? Do you think this is the crucial point here which prevents my system from booting? From: Dennis Pack on 27 Mar 2007 21:17 Klaus: Actually it's a WAG on my part. I haven't had the problem that you're having on three test systems during the beta, 2 systems updated to RTM through Windows update and 2 systems to RTM from the download. The setting that's different on your system is the S1 instead of S3 and I vaguely remember an oddity on one system until I changed the setting from S1 to S3. Have a great day. -- Dennis Pack XP x64, Vista Enterprise x64 Office2007 "klaus" <klaus(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:D8B80796-3E76-4C3B-AB82-D47426E8F425(a)microsoft.com... > Thanks Dennis! > > I can only choose setting S1 OR S3 (suspend to RAM) not both. > What should I do? > Do you think this is the crucial point here which prevents my system from > booting? > > Thanks and regards, > Klaus > > "Dennis Pack" wrote: > >> Klaus: >> Try setting the power management ACPI suspend type as S1 & S3 >> instead of S1 (pos). From: Klaus on 29 Mar 2007 05:15 I have additional two questions: 1. What is acpitabl.dat? When I start the repaired SP1 version of X64 in safe mode, I can see that the last driver loaded is acpitabl.dat in system32. This driver is loaded successfully although I can't find any acpitabl.* files on the whole disk. 2. In event viewer I see a lot of errors propably concerning one of my two SCSI drives: Event Type: Error Event Source: aic78u2 Event Category: None Event ID: 5 Date: 29.03.2007 Time: 10:18:59 User: N/A Computer: SERVER Description: A parity error was detected on \Device\Scsi\aic78u21. Checkdisk does not find errors on both drives. Does I have to take this error message more seriously? Could this be the reason for the booting failure under SP2? Klaus: At this point I'm at the limit of my knowledge. An error with a hard drive can create havoc on a system. If you're running W2K3 server the following article may be of help, http://weblogs.asp.net/lkempe/archive/2005/04/04/397084.aspx. Have a great day. -- Dennis Pack XP x64, Vista Enterprise x64 Office2007 "Klaus" <Klaus(a)nowhere.invalid> wrote in message news:uU2f6KecHHA.4720(a)TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... >I have additional two questions: > 1. > What is acpitabl.dat?
