I've had enough zipped files go wrong without any extra dicking about on my part to be quite wary. Daniele

There's this: <http://www.maczipit.com/download.html> (no need to be horrified at the age - when was the last time the Zip file format was updated, eh?) Stuffit went bad at about v5. Not what you want for the job in hand, but this is dead handy: <http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/30810> (the search term that got me that chucked up all sorts <http://www.versiontracker.com/php/qs.php?mode=basic&action=search&str=z ip+it&srchArea=macosx|macosx-all&submit=Go> ) Rowland. P.S. I blame the News Quiz. Don't look up grey love on the internet, they told me. So of course I did. The horror! Useful indeed, it will rescue zip files that Mac OS X's utility refuses to expand. Jan

Easy to use interface. Has a 30 day free trial with full use, after which it becomes somewhat "less functional" unless you decide to purchase it. There is also Zipeg <http://www.zipeg.com/zipeg.html> This is a freeware with a nice UI. It can open, view and extract the contents of several archive types including .ISO What it can't do is create archives (or if it can, I wasn't able to figure out how to) :-) BetterZip is the more complete program of the two. -- dee
