Curious thing was, I got shorter gaps using Xine over Audacious. Something SNAFU this way glitches, methinks. Fresh install going on a spare partition. Will test on that next. Oh, and you'll need a copy of Flink Poyd's "Side of the Dark Moon" ok? ;) Hmmm. Memory surfaces... Play 'The Specials's "Ghost Town"' in reverse. %| -- *=( http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/ *=( For all your UK news needs.

Play 'The Specials's "Ghost Town"' in reverse. %| Way back when I ripped my CDs to files, I used to rip the CD in one hit, one audio track, to preserve music like Pink Floyd and others that have their 'tracks' merge from one to another. Never any gaps :) Also found cdparanoia can wear out / break CD drives if you have it set to be too aggressive on data recovery -- that flutterby algorithm seems to wreak havoc on the CD head servo. Never any gaps :) I'm thinking this is probably the bomb-proof, though sub-optimal route. > Also found cdparanoia can wear out / break CD drives if you have it set > to be too aggressive on data recovery -- that flutterby algorithm seems > to wreak havoc on the CD head servo. Maybe it's a bug in Xine Audacious that's biting you; cdda-player plays my copy just fine. Jens
