Well, no that's not quite it. I have the preview mode enabled but it
just shows sort of an enhanced thumbnail of the document. That works
sometimes if I want a quick glance at the thing, but if I want to
actually read a multipage document I have to open it in Kate or Kwrite,
or other.

I can live with changes, but I hate losing features...

Like I think I wrote earlier, I have it here, just as in 3.5.
Right click -> Preview in Embedded Advanced Text Editor.

I'm running 11.2, very much default settings and KDE is without any
tweaks just as is Konqueror (4.3.1 "release 5")

I haven't upgraded KDE to 4.3.4 yet, I'm waiting for it to come as "official
updates"

Yes, there will be a version upgrade in KDE to 4.3.4 as normal update.

We're talking Dolphin here, right? I can still do that in Konqueror,
although it's no longer the default action. I'm sure I can set that
somewhere though.

It's the lack of that functionality in Dolphin that I'm bemoaning. I'm
trying to learn to like Dolphin but maybe I'll just add Konqueror to the
taskbar and drop Dolphin...

I know next to nothing about Dolphin.

I've changed my default file manager to Konqueror, just like I've always
had it.

I had never even seen Dolphin before it was put default in KDE 4.

I'm so used to Konqueror and I use it in so many ways that I don't
bother to try and find if Dolphin could do all the stuff that Konqueror
can.

I have normally several tabs open and several windows in them split in
different ways, using several protocols, fish, ftp, cifs, sshfs, name
it.

I'm not sure you're missing much. So far I haven't seen anything it can
do that Konqueror can't. There *must* be some reason they migrated to
it instead of Konqueror but I don't know what. Maybe pride? <g>

Yeah, I did that too. Haven't put it in the panel yet, but probably
will one of these days.

It's amazingly versatile isn't it? Do developers change things just
because they can? I don't get it.

Thanks for the feedback...
